[American?]: Early 19th century. Square 8vo, 16 pp, consisting of an index [pp. 1-2], and receipts [5-16]. Second leaf blank. Saddle-stitched, with outer leaves detached. Outer leaves rather darmpstained, but complete legible. Interior leaves clean, with a very clear hand throughout. Printed on watermarked paper.
The 29 recipies including those for "silvering" brass, japanning, "cement" (aka glue) "useful for Turners" and broken pots and glasses. Of specialnote are two color related recipies, including one for "making a glare of Eggs," and a for wood varnishes in red, blue, yellow, green, and black. Item #30675
