The Shed House Sportswear. Our Sweaters Have No Sex [Silkscreened Bag]

New York: c. 1960's. 15 x 18 1/2" pre-printed paper bag, silkscreened in black.

A typographically silkscreened bag from the Greenwich Village clothing shop owned by Tony Benson. Though little known today, the shop was influential in the new counter-culture fashions of the 60's, and was a childhood influence on the designer Robert Stock. According to the July 27, 1968 issue of the Saturday Evening Post, which ran a photograph of the shop in an article on NYC fashion, “The Shed House in the Village has uniforms, all kinds of shirts and pants, and men’s wigs and moustaches.”

Folded twice, with some minor creasing but very good.

Influenced Robert Stock. Item #31392

Price: $150.00
