London: Macmillan, 1928. Later printing. Signed at the title page by George Russell, who has also drawn one of his jewel-like miniature landscapes. Provenance: from the library of Mary Fentress, with her signature, Richmond, VA address, and date of acquisition (1931) to ffep. In addition, the recto and verso of the first blank and the recto of the half-title page are covered with a dense holograph text on the Irish question, in an unknown hand.
An unusual and battered example, but with a superb drawing by the Irish artist, Theosophist and occultist.
Toning to the endpapers, the binding strongly cracked at the half-title page, with webbing visible, foxing to prelims and rear endpapers. A good only example, but it presents well, with the gilt still bright at spine. Item #31159
