Redtape No. 6: The Cracked Mirror
New York: Red Tape, 198. Folio, saddle-stapled in photographically illustrated wraps.
Sixth issue of one of the best downtown periodicals of the 1980's, "the manual to the darker side of the era." (Stosuy p. 458). David Wojnarowicz is thanked in the foreward, and this issue includes unbelievable work by him (his monologue "man in lower east side tenement room" and a photograph of his 1986 collaboration with Richard Kern, the installation "You Killed Me First" at Ground Zero Gallery), Kathy Acker, Patrick McGrath, Greer Lankton, Kembra Pfahler, Laurie Sheridan, Seth Tobocman, Conrad Vogel, Barbara Ess, Joseph Nechvatal, Paul Smith, Toyo, Tom Warren, Kryzysztof Zarebski, and many others.
The scarcest issue of the periodical, particularly subject to wear given the oversized wraps. This example has 2 small magazine shop stickers to cover, and a couple small sticker ghosts, else bright, clean and near fine - the best example we've handled. Item #30732
