Inwood-on-Hudson, NY: Ernest Loomis, nd. 8vo, 288, [15] pp. ads. Bound in green silk with titles embossed in black. Edited by Willis Whitehead.

A very unusual, beautiufl and scarce edition of Agrippa, published from Inwood, New York by the eccentric publisher and occultist Ernest Loomis in the very early 20th century, after Loomis had purchased the copyright to the book from Willis Whitehead in 1899. The copyright page bears the date of 1897, but this was likely published shortly after Loomis moved from Chicago to Inwood. The text includes as an appendix the text "The Magic Mirror: A Message to Mystics Containing Full Instructions on its Make and Use," printed by direction of the Brotherhood of Magic.

Provenance: from the library of NASA scientist Ralph Donaldson, with his signature to the ffep, along with the prior bookplate of Mrs. John T. McCormick, aka Laura McCormick, studen of Jacob Bonggren and teacher of Donaldson, also to ffep; faint rubberstamp of Glen J. Rynearson to following blank and rfep.

Interior paper lightly toned, a couple of faint stains to boards, along with a small area of paper adhesion to cover, else a very good or better example of a book that, when found, is usually shaken or worn. Item #30591
