A substantial lot of one of the most influential and longrunning underground newspapers of the 1960’s, including several of the rarer issues - including the first, the third, with the Burroughs contribution "Invisible Generation," as well as no. 22 1/2, a poster edition.

Includes contributions by or about William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder, Yoko Ono, Morton Feldman, Aleister Crowley, William Blake et al, as well as coverage about sex, drugs, communes, new music, rock music, folk music, the occult, censorship, politics, etc.

Condition is very good to near fine, with several of the issues unfolded, and scarce thus.

1. McGrath, Tom, ed. International Times No. 1. London: International Times, [1966]. Tabloid format, unbound, folded sheets.

This issue includes Charles Marowitz on the play Vietnam at the Aldywych, a preview of the one woman Yoko Ono show at Indica Gallery, a poem by Adrian Mitchell, Jean-Jacques Lebel on the death of André Breton, "Provo Suggestions" by Simon Vinkenoog, TWO articles on the Destruction on Art Symposium, one by Tony Cox and another by Jay Landesman, and more.

Lightly toned, with some light marginall chipping and fraying, but a very good or better example, much better than normally found.

2. McGrath, Tom, ed. [William S. Burroughs et al]. International Times No. 3. London: International Times, [1966].

Tabloid format, unbound, folded sheets.

This issue is notable for featuring the full page text "The Invisible Generation" by William S. Burroughs, a small ad for Yoko Ono at the Jeanetta Cochran Theatre, also a demand for 24 hour tube service in the city, a piece on the Fletcher case, a comic strip by the Greek-Cypriot artist Criton Tomazos, a full page text by Morton Feldman, Yakov Lind, and more.

Some fraying and chipping to extremities, else a very good copy, never folded, with only light toning.

3. Levy, Bill et al, eds. International Times No. 28. London: International Times, 1968.


Cover incorporating Gary Snyder's "Why Tribe" text, a fu7ll page advertisement for the First European International Pop Festival, centerfold text on Yoga Sex, Charlotte on the Digger scene in London, John Peel's Perfumed Garden column, etc.

Light paper toning, faint horizontal fold else fine.

4. Levy, Bill et al, eds. International Times No. 29. London: International Times, 1968. Tabloid format, printed on newsprint with spot color.

Interview with Rudi Dutschke, an interview and analysis of the demise of the UFO events at the Marquee club done by Steven Stollman (Of ESP Disk) and John Hopkins, material on macrobiotic diets, interview with Shirley Clark, a bit on the upcoming New American Cinema screenings at the National Film Theatre, an open letter to Tariq Ali by John Hopkins, etc.

Light paper toning, faint horizontal fold else fine.

5. McGrath, Tom, ed. International Times No. 15. London: International Times, 1967. Tabloid format, printed on newsprint.

This issue leads with a cover story on the Scotland Yard seizure of materials from both the IT offices and the Indica Bookshop, a bit on the drug charges against Dave Tomlin of Sun Trolley, a piece on the protests in Germany and the death of Benne Ohnesorg, a piece on the Good Vibrations club, etc.

A clean copy, never folded, with only light toning an a couple small tears to foot of spine. Scarce in this condition.

6. McGrath, Tom, ed. International Times No. 8.

London: International Times, [1966]. Tabloid format, unbound, folded sheets.

This issue includes the lengthy Barry Miles interview with Pete Townshend of The Who, comic strips by Jeff Nuttall under his Clifton De Berry pseudonym, "Reflections on the Mantra" by Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder on Buddhism, The Diggers, a feature on Germany's Beate Uhse store, and more.

Some faint toning to the paper, else fine and unfolded, a remarkably well-preserved copy.

7. International Times. International Times 51. London: International Times, 1969. First edition. Tabloid format, offset printed on newsprint.

One of the most influential and longrunning organs of the underground press. "This issue pirated by David Mairowitz." Squatting in English country houses, Joseph Berke on the Kommune trial, with a transcript, and more.

Folded once with some toning, head shop rubberstamp to upper margin of cover. Very good.


8. McGrath, Tom, ed. International Times No. 7. London: International Times, [1966]. Tabloid format, unbound, folded sheets.

This issue is notable for including a brief bit on Jimi Hendrix and his English tour, Allen Ginsberg's "Public Solitude" lecture given at the Arlington Street church, John Mitchell on Flying Saucers, comics by Jeff Nuttall, and more.

Outer sheet partially frayed through at spine, otherwise a very good example with light toning and chipping.

9. Moore, J. Henry & Bill Levy et al, eds. International Times #13.

London: Lovebooks, 1967. First edition. Tabloid format, offset printed on newsprint.

Early issue of the longrunning and influential underground newspaper, one of the best of the era. This issue includes an interview with George Harrison, the International Times benefit at Alexandra Palace, a text by Michael X, a bit on the upcoming Monterey Pop Festival, Marvel and the Comic Book Revolution, and more.

A clean, unfolded fine example, and scarce thus.

10. McGrath, Tom, ed. International Times 111.

London: Bloom Publications, 1971. First edition. Tabloid format, offset printed on newsprint with spot color.

This issue includes photographs from the Oz protests, Jody Breslaw on the apocalypse, "William Blake and the Druids" by Joy Farren, "The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz" by William Stok, a full page appeal against the extradition of Paul Rudolph of the Pink Fairies, and more.

11. International Times No. 19

This issue was published on the one year birthday of the paper, and includes coverage of the Notting Hill Festival, ufologist John Michell, a beautiful one page advertisement for the Crazy World of Arthur Brown, advertisement for Yoko Ono's show 1/2 Life, an interview with Leslie Fiedler, Joel Metz on LSD, acid centerfold, Kevin Ayer's poem for the IT, "Song for International Times," a full page on Aleister Crowley, etc.

Toning to margins, but otherwise a clean, fine example, never folded, and scarce in this condition. Item

This issue includes a cover story on police actions in Regents Park, hash cakes recipe, a page of photographs by Horace Ove, a great section, with a dotted line to be cut out, reproducing a talisman from the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, intended for gaining the affection of a judge, A Seedy Bee cartoon by Jeff Nuttall, Malcolm Hart centerfold photograph of the Cyn IT Girl, posed with a straw from a can of coke up her nose, an ad for Indica Books, an interview with John Lee Hooker in which he takes on Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix as sell outs, a piece on the censorship of the Joseph Strick film Ulysses, reviews of Arthur Brown and Charles Lloyd live, etc.

A clean copy, never folded, , with some moderat toning. Scarce in this condition.

A superb issue, including an IT New Music Supplement, with an interview with Cornelius Cardew, and bits on Stockhausen, Berio, Pierre Boulez, a short bit on the "Tribe of the Sacred Mushroom" commune, a bit on the Captain Beefheart shows in London, with the customs difficulties, a review of Anthony Harvey's film Dutchman, etc.

A clean, very good copy with some minor toning and rubbing. Item #30254

One of the most influential and longrunning organs of the underground press. This issue includes a brief piece on the trial of Michael X, The Fletcher Case, John Peel, Mick Farren's book reviews of Freewheelin Frank and Hunter S. Thompson's Hell's Angels, etc.

Single faint horizontal fold, some minor toning and rubbing, but a very good or better example.
