np: Robert Watts, nd [c. 1960's]. Image of the front of a tuxedo shirt, silkscreened onto black all cotton turtleneck, size medium. With the Fluxus Mayan head symbol to lower margin, which reads "Designed and Tailored by Robert Watts."

Provenance: from the collection of book dealer and early Fluxus collector John Hunov.

One of a number of shirts and other apparel designed by Robert Watts in the 1960's, many of then under the Implosions imprint, the most infamous being the female undershirt design which was appropriated by numerous other designers, including Malcolm McLaren. Another example of the Tuxedo shirt was exhibited in the Franklin Furnace exhibit Fluxus: A Conceptual Landscape [no. 0274].
