Bodily Responses: Proceded by Other Poems & Followed by Footnotes
London: Gaberbocchus Press, 1958. First edition. 8vo, 45 pp, bound in pale green cloth titled in copper at the spine. In the publisher's original dust jacket.
The first collection of poems by the novelist, and one of the most beautifully designed books of many superb books from the press. The footnotes which follow the text are printed on yellow paper stock. The dust jacket incorporates a reproduction of Titian's painting 'Venus with the Organ Player," with a series of seismic graph lines wrapping around the spine and joining the front and back panels.
A touch of fading to the spine and edges of the boards, else fine, in an unclipped jacket which shows some light traces of soiling, else easily fine. Item #30077
