New York: School for Democracy, 1942. 8vo, 22 pp, saddle-stapled wraps.
A course catalog for the School for Democracy, founded by Selsam and others at 13 Astor Place and associated with the CPUSA. The faculty and lecturers listed for the four month periodi are staggering, including Gwendolyn Bennett, Langston Hughes, W.C. Handy, Paul Robeson, Vilhjalmur Stefansson, Goshal Kumar, Leo Huberman, and many others. Of special note is a course entitled "Life and Culture of the Negro People," wehich was taught by Bennett in association with Hughes, Robeson, W.C. Handy and others.
Wraps toned with some minor insect erosion here and there, and a light bump to one tip throughout. Very good. Item #30028
