Item #29736 Miscarriage. Penny Greenwald, Carmen Wiseman, Carmen Monoxide, eds Loretta Baretta.

Miscarriage

Jamaica Plain, MA: Miscarriage, `1977-78. Twenty issues, photo-mechanically reproduced from drawing, holograph and photographs, either stapled or bound iwth stickers, and one issue tie-bound with green holiday tape, as issued, some issues addressed and mailed to a west coast fanzine editor, and many of the issues inscribed to the recipient. With the "Make Christmas Better Than Ever" flyer.

A significant collection of one of the best first wave punk fanzines in the US. Miscarriage explored the early Boston punk scene from a firsthand perspective, chronicling the local bands, the shows, the visiting bands, the sex, the parties, and all the gossip with an exuberance matched by the anarchic layouts and artwork.

Though numerous issues of Miscarriage were issued, surviving copies are rare. This is only the second collection of issues we've handled or seen. OCLC locates holdings only at a single institution.

Very good. Item #29736
