Koln: Vostell, 1964. First edition. 4to, offset lithograph, stab-stapled, with photographically illustrated dust jacket.
Fourth issue of 7 published. One of the most important conceptual art periodicals of the 1960's. This is the "Happenings" number, notable for the multiple by Stanley Brouwn - a tipped in brown paper bag rubberstamped "use this brouwn." Also, contributions by Nam June Paik, Ramon Barce, S. Bonk, George Brecht, Bazon Brock, H. J. Dietrich, Al Hansen, Jackson Mac Low, Dick Higgins, allan Kaprow, Jean-Jacques Lebel, Claes Oldenburg, Robin Page, Tomas Schmit, Frank Trowbridge, and Jean Pierre Wilhelm.
This example has some splitting to the fragile paper covering the spine, as often found, some minor toning, and a faint and dissipating odor of tobacco smoke, but still a very good or better example and better than normally found - this issue was painted on a variety of cheap papers, which make issues in strong condition difficult to find.
