[New York]: [Jenny Holzer], . Artists' book, 12 unbound sheets, each 10 x 10", printed by offset lithograph. Housed in the original ziploc plastic bag.
A selection of 12 posters from the Inflammatory Essays series, which Holzer had been posting in the streets of NYC beginning in 1979. In 1982, Holzer made this gathering in a zip-loc plastic bag, largely available at Printed Matter in NYC. Each essay was made within the confines of a 100 word limit, printed in 20 lines. Many of the essays have a sort of acceleratory relevance. The End of the U.S.A., with its broadside against corporate space travel seems particularly relevant, as Elon Musk, Richard Branson and Jess Bezos launch themselves into space after destroying our ecosystems one by one.
Some of the sheets have some very faint bend marks (not creases), else fine. Bag near fine with light wear. Item #29607
