'When I first came to Amsterdam, it was beautiful but dead. All these beautiful people, with nothing to do.'
New from our friends at Artistiek Bureau comes this gorgeously designed, first publication of a lost text by Piero Heliczer, discovered in the correspondence of the Dutch poet Harry Hoogstraten. The text was writtin in the summer of 1977, when Heliczer was forced to leave his houseboat and Amsterdam and return to Paris. In this uncertain time this short, beautiful text was born, both a a farewell to Amsterdam and a brave greeting to the unknown, with passing reference to Hugo Bart Huges, Ted Joans, Allen Ginsberg, Provo, and the Kabouters.
