The Vision and the Voice

Barstow: Thelema Publishing Company, 1952. First edition thus. 4to, 163 pp, bound in limp red leatherette stamped in gilt, and bound with 32 rings. Mimeographed from typescript, drawings, and hand-lettering. With lengthy errata slip tipped onto verso of title page. Place of publication rubberstamped at foot of title page, as issued. With an emendation in purple ink to page 158, and a pair of brackets added neatly in blue ink to p. 162. Though unstated, it is likely that less than 100 copies were issued.

A remarkable publication, typed up by Phyllis Seckler, with the Hebrey letters drawn by hand and then mimeographed. The title was originally intended for publication by Mandrake in 1930, but appeared here, with Crowley's extensive commentary, finally issued in book form in the California desert.

Rare. OCLC locates only three holdings worldwide, and none in North America.

Upper tips lightly creased from bumping, a touch of dulling to the gilt, small stain to lower margin of one page within, not affecting text, else a fine example. Item #29403

Price: $1,500.00
