New York: Showcard, 1968. First edition. 8vo, 4 unnumbered leaves.
The Playbill for the Fugs' 1968 July run at the Players Theatre, at 114 MacDougal Street. The publication is a satire of the Showcard Playbills which were ubiquitous in NYC, and to make it perfect, appears to have been printed by the Showcard company itselfm replete with real advertisements - a microcosm of the Fugs' approach to assaulting culture within the culture, and a "commercial" artist book in the best sense of the term.
The playbill announces that the performances were presented by Aleister Crowley and Julius Orlovsky, and gives biographies for each of the Fugs for these performances; Ed Sanders, Ken Weaver, Vin Leary, Tuli Kupferberg, John Anderson, and Pete Kearny.
Heavily foxed, with some unevenness to the paper throughout. A battered, but rare survivor; OCLC locates only a single holding. Item #29116
