Waldport, Oregon: The Illiterati, 1945. First edition. Small 4to. Offset printed in several colors and saddle-stapled wraps.
The fourth installment of The Illiterati, one of the greatest little magazines of the twentieth century, published from the conscientous objector's camp at Waldport, Oregon. The magazine would have an incalculable and still underappreciated effect upon the Mimeograph Revolution and various other strands of underground publishing ever since.
This issue features work by Kenneth Patchen, Alex Comfort, Wilfred Lang, Lewis Hill, Glen Coffield, Louis Adeane, George Woodcock, Howard Sewall, Henry Miller, William Everson, Irwin Stark, & D. S. Savage.
Very good with some fading to wraps, a bump to foot of spine with a small resulting tear (the binding remains sound), and an old price sticker to back cover. Item #29087
