View Nos. 9-10. Through the Eyes of Poets

New York: View, 1942. First edition. Folio, [10] pp, saddle-stapled wraps.

Early, early issue of the periodical, before it graduated to a smaller format. A remarkable issue including Joseph Cornell's text "Enchanted Wanderer: Excerpt from a Journey Album for Hedy Lamarr, a cover illustration by Pavel Tchelitchew, Pierre Mabille's essay The Destruction of the World, "Nostradamus Against the Gods" by Hilary Arm, "White Rabbits" by Leonora Carrington, a poem by Manuel Moreno Jimeno, and more, including some great period ads for places like Gotham Book Mart.

Some light creasing and a couple short nicks to fore edge, else a clean and bright near fine example that has never been folded. The early issues in the oversized format are scarce and exceedingly so in this condition. Item #28835

Price: $200.00
