Seven Lectures & a Couple of Early Pieces. Dick Higgins.

Seven Lectures & a Couple of Early Pieces

New York: Richard C. Higgins, 1963. 4to, 3 leaves mimeographed on rectos only and stapled once at the upper left hand corner.

A self-published and privately distributed work by Higgins printing 7 of his remarkable lecture happenings, written between 1957 and 1963, followed by two other late 1950's Happenings, "Variations on a Chicken" and "Piano Concerto No. 2," the latter which gives instructions for playing a solo on a soloist. Lecture No. 4 was written in response to a performance by Henry Flynt.

Rare and important. OCLC locates no holdings, we've never seen it before, and the only reference we can find to it is the June 15, 1963 record of its catalog entry.

Folded once, with some toning and creasing to extremities. Very good. Item #28592
