[New York]: [c. 1967]. 11 x 14" silver gelatin print [image size 8 x 10"]. Unsigned and undated.
A fantastic photograph of Ed Sanders, with a moccasined foot in the foreground. The photograph was taken in Central Park by Lenny Schechter, and was shot on spec to be used for the 1967 LP Tenderness Junction, but the record company went with some guy named Richard Avedon. This photograph, strikingly composed and candid, is better. From the collection of the artist and musician Dan Lauffer, who was present that day.
Well-creased, mostly at margins, though there are some lighter creases to the surface of the image. There are a number of mostly closed tears, including two which affect theimage, and a chip missing from lower margin. Fair only, but with the image well-preserved. The only example of the photograph we've seen. Item #28038
