London: The Morland Press, 1921. Second state of the first edition, with the Francis Marsden attribution slip pasted down over the third and fourth lines of the title page. Ex libris C. Reginald Grundy, with his bookplate to fep and "p 1699" inked neatly alongside it. . A review copy, with slip pasted down onto the first blank, and the letter R written in pencil on second blank.
The only review copy we've seen of this title, and an artifact of Spare's difficulty in presenting his work to the world. The delicate shading of the reproductions in this edition have not been done justice in any of the reprints.
Ansell, p. 287.
A battered copy, with the boards and spine heavily worn, toned, soiled, and rubbed, and the hinges cracked. Item #27820
