Black Mountain, NC: Black Mountain College, 1954. First edition. 8vo, 64 pp, illustrated wraps.
The first number of the second iteration of the periodical, which had previously been issued in a single issue under the editorship of M. C. Richardson three years prior. Under the editorship of Creeley, it would run for 7 numbers and become one of the most influential and important periodicals of the postwar period.
This issue includes contributions from Charles Olson, Robert Helman, Thomas White, Irving Layton, Paul Blackburn, Mason Jordan Mason, René Laubiés, Larry Eigner, William Bronk, and Martin Seymour-Smith.
Bump to upper left corner throughout, and some of the expected toning, else a clean, sound, and relatively bright very good example - much nicer than usually found. Item #27737
