New Haven & New York: New Haven Panther Defense Committee / New York Committee to Defend the Panther 21, 1970. Tabloid, pp. [including covers], offset printed on newsprint in two colors, with centerfold poster.
A one shot publication issued by the two committees which prints a centerfold poster with an unattributed photomontage with a quote by Bobby Seale, updates and statements by members of the 21, a description of the upcoming people's trial vs. Yale University, and, on the back cover, a call for the upcoming May Day protests in New Haven on behalf of the 21, which would become one of the most legendary protests of the decade. The cover is illustrated with a powerful image featuring a drawing of the the Statue of Liberty with a Death's Head, superimposed over a photograph of people sitting at a protest - an unforgettable cover and a high point of radical graphic design in the 70's.
Folded once, with just a hint of toning to margins, else a clean, fine example.
Rare. OCLC locates only two holdings. Item #27197
