New York: 1967. 2 x 3" card, with the word "Fluxmaster" printed on it, mounted in a plastic holder. With poster for the event [17 x 22", offset lithograph on white paper].
Original Fluxmaster card created by George Maciunas for the artist Dan Laufer, made for his participation in the Paper Show concert at the Museum of American Crafts.
The badge is accompanied by the original poster for the event, listing the participants (including Dan). The poster is strikingly designed with the text in very small type, occupying a 1 1/2 x 2" rectangular area, the remainder of the are of the poster a blinding, untrammeled field of the most generous margins.
Rare. As only 21 participants are listed in the poster, it stands to reason that a similarly small number of Fluxmaster cards were made for the performance. This is also the only example of the striking poster for the event we've seen, likely designed by Maciunas.
Upper right hand portion of nametag severely darkened, with loss and brittleness to the paper. The plastic mount is scratched, clouded and stained. Poor condition, but a rare survivor, and any good happening is bound to get messy.
The poster is folded three times, and is in very good condition, still bright, and showing only minor creasing and handling marks. Item #27127
