New York: Exit Art, 1983. Large 4to, five sheets, each folded to make a four panel booklet, housed in a photographically illustrated folder. One of a limited edition of 500 copies.
Artists' book published in conjunction with the 1983 exhibition documenting Tehching Hsieh's performance, in which he remained outside for one year in New York City. It includes one poster sheet booklet for each season, along with an additional folded sheet which also prints an essay by Exit Art's Jeannette Ingberman, who curated the show, and had helped Tsieh find a lawyer when he was arrested and temporarily placed into jail during the work. The recto of the first panel of that booklet reproduces the artist's statement of intent which inaugurated the project. The final panel reproduces a map of the lower portion of Manhattan, with lines and notes on the paths taken during the project reproduced from the artist's holograph.
