Lawrence, KS: Abington Bookshop, 1966. 4to, 35 pp, offset printed and saddle-stapled into wraps illustrated with a great photograph of Ken Kesey's bus by Michael Culbertson.
Important issue of the longrunning and seminal little magazine, one of the most important - if not the most important to be issued from the midwest in the 1960's. This issue essential because of an early contribution by S. Clay Wilson, likely his third, as well as one of the earliest illustrations by Bob Branaman to be printed (on the back cover). The cover photograph of Kesey's bus ties the midwest poetry scene in with the coastal counter-culture of the time. This issue features an unusually broad assortment of writers from many different geographical locations and backgrounds, including David Ignatow, Henry Roth, Barbara Holland, Jeff Nuttall, Ted Berrigan, Larry Eigner et al.
A near fine example, showing only some light toning to extremities, and scarce thus. Item #26630
