New York: Film Culture, 1960. First edition. 8vo, saddle-stapled wraps.
A relatively early issue of the long-running publication, not just the most important film journal in America during the post-war period, but a periodical that would also incorporate related arts into it's scope, especially with those issues which were designed by artists associated with Fluxus, pop, and other avant-garde movements.
A beautifully composed issue, one of the best, awarding the magazine's Second Independent Film Award to Robert Frank's Pull my Daisy on the back cover, a statement by Luis Buñuel, as well as two articles on Buñuel by Emilio G. Riera, Stan Brakhage (The Silent Sound Sense), Octavio Paz (Nazarin), Freud, Arlene Croce, GEorge N. Fenin on the Mar del Plata festival, and Rouben Mamoulian (Color and Light in Films), and more.
Very good with a 2" crease to cover and some faint rubbing to extremities. Item #26010
