New York: Film Culture, 1956. First edition. 4to, saddle-stapled wraps.
A rare early issue of the long-running publication, not just the most important film journal in America during the post-war period, but a periodical that would also incorporate related arts into it's scope, especially with those issues which were designed by artists associated with Fluxus, pop, and other avant-garde movements.
This issue features a great cover of the seven Samurai in Alira Kurosawa's The Magnificent Seven, and some great articles including Andrew Sarris on Carol Reed, Mark Sufrin on the Slapstick era, Arlene Croce on the Bad Seed, an article by Edouard Laurot on Swedish avant-garde cinema, etc.
A clean, near fine example, with only some slight dulling to the gloss. Item #26006
