Lot of 6 Catalogs from the Asphodel Bookshop

Cleveland: The Asphodel Bookshop, nd. Most issues 4to, mimeographed from typescript and folded once. Several of the catalogs addressed and postmarked to the poet Marcus Grapes, with some circling and underlining in ink throughout.

A collection of 7 catalogs from one of the most important poetry bookshops in the US, and one of the primary distributors of the little magazines of the Mimeograph Revolution, especially for the Cleveland Scene. Lowell's bookshop was the subject of persecution by the police in conjunction with the distribution of works by d. a. levy. This lot includes some of the earlier catalogs, including the rare no. 1, as well as numbers 9 (with an excerpt from B. Traven's The Death Ship), 14, 15, 18, and one of the very last catalogs, no. 217.

All issues a bit ragged with the aforementioned circling, as well as creasing and toning, but complete and about very good. Item #25882
