Paris: 1952. 8vo, 286 [2] pp, printed wraps illustrated at rear panel and spine with a metagraphy by Gabriel Pomerand.

The first and last issue of one of this foundational Lettriste periodical, a substantial statement which fundamentally changed the medium of film as art in ways that are still being sorted out to this day. It includes the first published work by Guy Debord, his texts Hurlements en faveur de Sade and Prolégomènes à tout cinéma futur, printed shortly before the Lettriste International split. This issue is also notable for including the typographical delirium of Gil Wolman's essay ‘L’anticoncept. Argument cinematographique pour une phase physique des arts’, and other texts on film by Isidore Isou, Poucette, Gabriel Pomerand, Serge Berna, François Dufrêne, Yolande du Luart, Monique Geoffrey, and the editor.

Rare. OCLC locates only 5 holdings, none of which are in North America.

The green wraps sunned, as usual. Reading creases to the spine, but the text block remains unusually firm and sound, a very good copy. Increasingly scarce. Item #25820

Price: $1,250.00
