Brush Up Your Corpse

Np: Pauline Smith, 1977. 8 1/4 x 11 3/4 print, offset litho, with rubberstamping on both recto and verso.

One of a series of works related to Pauline Smith's mail art project Corpse Club. Smith was a pioneering mail artist of the 1970's, a collaborator and correspondent with Anna Banana and Genesis P-Orridge. Like the latter, she also got into trouble with the law for her mail art activities, when police raided her home in 1976. Her archive is housed at the Tate. For more on Pauline Smith's activities, see Stewart Home's The Assault on Culture, p. 71.

Folded once as mailed, with some light rubbing, else near fine. Item #25716
