London: Pauline Smith, 1977. 8 1/4 x 11 3/4" print, offset printed on coated paper stock, with rubberstamping to both recto and verso. Housed in the original mailing envelope, addressed and mailed to a fellow mail artist in Canada.

Smith was a pioneering mail artist, a collaborator and correspondent with Anna Banana and Genesis P-Orridge. Like the latter, she also got into trouble with the law for her mail art activities, when police raided her home in 1976. Letters from her to P-Orridge are included in G. P. O. vs. G. P-O. Her considerable archive is housed at the Tate. For more on Pauline Smith's activities, see Stewart Home's The Assault on Culture, p. 71.
