Houston, Texas: The Texas Gallery, 1973. 5 5/8 x 19", offset printed.
The poster for this 1973 exhibition, held Sept. 4–Oct. 2 in Houston, Texas, which presented this series of work which began in the 1950's, inspired by Max Ernst. The poster appears likely designed by Conner himself. Conner didn't originally attribute these works to himself, though, but rather to his fellow artist and Kansan Dennis Hopper. The works formed the basis of the egregiously limited fine printing production by Crown Point Press published in three volumes from 1971-73. Unbound prints were exhibited in 2016 at Senior & Shopmaker Gallery.
Single strong vertical crease, touch of foxing to verso, else clean and very good.
Scarce ephemera from. Item #25330
