San Francisco: The New Music Society of California, 1931. First edition. Folio, 16 pp, saddle-stapled in printed wraps.
Henry Cowell started the New Music Quarterly in 1927 in order to publish scores by composers who were unlikely to see exposure of their work in the mainstream. Cowell was editor of the series until 1936, and during that time published a wide range of innovative music.
This issue is devoted to Joseph Achron's Statuettes for Piano.
Though there are no ownership marks, this copy of the score was from Lou Harrison's library.
Near fine with light toning and a couple of light creases to wraps.
A bright copy with a small faint abrasion to cover, else fine. Item #24937
