Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, . First edition. 8vo, 202 pp, perfect bound in printed wraps. The advance reading copy. Inscribed by David Markson at the title page, "To Larry - With All Luck. Dave Markson NYC. "
An advance reader of Markson's western, which was filmed as "Dirty Dingus Magee" with Frank Sinatra. A very scarce state of the novel, appearing in late 1964, which woundn't be published until January of 1965. The cover gives a hint of how the company planned to advertise the novel, comparing it with Mark Harris' The Southpaw, and packaging it as a spoof "on the tradition of the Western Bad Man."
Soundly bumped at upper tip throughout, wraps soundly toned, indented, and creased. Good only, but the binding remains solid, and this is a scarce state, especially signed. Item #23696
